Obituary

William "Bill" Neal Fancher, Sr, 84, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, strong family roots and a faithful heart. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 27, 2026, 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Rev. Ed McDaniel will officiate the services. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

He was born on December 29, 1941, in Black Hawk, MS, where he was raised and his story began. In 1971, he moved to Louisiana (St. Charles Parish,) where he built a long and dedicated career as a barge superintendent with ACBL Barge line, working faithfully for 32 years until his retirement in 2003.

After retiring, he returned home to Blackhawk, MS, where he truly lived life to the fullest. He found joy in the simple and meaningful things, fishing, hunting, gardening, and most of all laughing. He had a way of making people feel welcomed and loved. His laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those who knew him.

Above all he loved Jesus and was an active member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, his faith was a quiet strength in his life, and we find comfort knowing he is now at peace in the presence of the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Monroe Fancher and Lucille Goss Fancher; and his siblings, James Otis, Willie D, Aubrey, Ruby Lee, Juanita, Franklin "Buddy", Albert "Sonny", EmmaLou, and W.B. "Dub B".

He is survived by his loving children, William N. Fancher, Jr., Todd (Angel) Fancher, and Lisa Fancher (Whitney III) Curole.

He was a proud Pawpaw to Richard (Maggie) Fancher, Chelsy (Anthony) Theriot, Brant Fancher, Kristen (Josh) Jimenez, Whitney (Karlee) Curole IV, and Kori Curole.

His legacy continues through his cherished great grandchildren, Roman, Rylan, Olivia, Channing Rose, Adam, EJ, Emmy, Everleigh, Lynleigh, Kylen, Nevaeh, Tyli, and Taelyn.

He loved all his babies, and nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by his family and friends.

Our Daddy will be remembered as a strong, hardworking man who loved deeply, laughed always and lived a full and meaningful life.

Though he will be greatly missed his love and the memories we created will live on in all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be Richard Fancher, Brant Fancher, Whitney Curole III, Whitney Curole IV, Josh Jimenez, and Anthony Theriot. Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Robertson, Mike Burnum, Rob VanDalsen, JB Whitehead, Ronnie Montsinger, and James Fancher.

We Love You Daddy!
