William Dell Ellis, Sr., 81, of Greenwood, MS, died Sunday, July 28, 2024 at University Medical Center in Lexington, MS. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2024 in Odd Fellows East Cemetery with visitation 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Bro. Wilton Neal will officiate.

William was born November 26, 1942, in Tyler, TX, to William Dewey Ellis and Verlene Slaton Ellis. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School, and he was a Baptist. He also was a pilot who loved to fly crop dusters. He enjoyed deer hunting, drag racing, and playing pool. He was preceded in death by his sister, Starlie Ellis, and his parents.

He is survived by his sons, Tracy Ellis of Coila, MS, and William Dell Ellis, Jr. of Hernando, MS; sister, Teresa Hunger of Jackson Hole, WY; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keefe Brewer, Breland Ellis, Gavin Ellis, Frank Holman, Austin Brewer, and Kevin Cook.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
