Wilborn "Joe" Nanney , 71, of Greenwood, MS, died Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.

Mr. Nanney was born August 20, 1948 in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, to C.W. Nanney and Mary Elizabeth Riley Nanney. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, and worked as a farm hand and heavy equipment operator. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lester Earl Nanney, sister, Jane Elizabeth Nanney, and his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Jean Rippee Nanney of Greenwood, MS; son, William J. Nanney of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Wendy G. Mims and husband Keith of Greenwood, MS; sisters, Violet Mason of Lake Village, AR, Ruth Hathcock of Lake Village, AR, and Patty Nanney of Arcadia, FL; brothers, Johnny Nanney of Crossett, AR, Larry Nanney of Crossett, AR, and Leslie Nanney of Crossett, AR; three grandchildren, Kacie Mims of Greenwood, MS, Gunnar Mims of Jasper, AL, and Krystal Mims of Jasper, AL; and four great-grandchildren.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be a private service at a later date.
