Services for Velma Lambert Blount will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 2:00 PM graveside in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Blount, age 81, died on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at St Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS.

She was born on November 17, 1941 in Darling, MS, to the late James Boyd Bingham and Lillie Mae Bailey Bingham and resided in Greenwood most of her life. She was a homemaker. She is preceded in death by her husband, Richard Blount; daughters, Cathy Leverett and Roxanne Leverett; sons, David Leverett and Eddie Leverett; brother, Joe Bingham; and a sister, Francis Bingham.

She is survived by her sons, Ricky Dale Leverett of Greenwood, MS, and Christopher Blount of Teoc, MS; daughters, Melissa Leverett of Grenada, MS, and Shelia Leverett of Greenwood, MS; brothers, Billy Bingham of TX, and Buddy Bingham of AL; sisters, Zelma Storey of Greenwood, MS, Joyce Brower of Greenwood, MS, and Carolyn Pierce of LA; fifteen grandchildren, and several great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Williams and Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Larry Shackleford will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Christopher Blount, Patrick Wiltsie, Billy Hollingsworth, Jonathan Hollingsworth, Zac Storey, and Ricky Dale Leverett. Honorary pallbearers will be Terry Wayne Campbell and Chris Campbell.
