Services for Syble Garrett Jones will be held Friday, September 18, 2020 2:00 PM graveside at Drew Cemetery in Drew, MS.

Mrs. Jones, age 87, died on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at Bolivar Medical Center in Cleveland, MS.

She was born on January 1, 1933 in Lee County, MS, to the late Thomas Tolse and Fannie Mabel Brown Garrett and lived in Cleveland, Mississippi. Syble married Tommy Jenkins Jones in July of 1949 and lived in Tupelo, MS, before moving to Drew in 1963. She was a homemaker, devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, and she worked at the Drew Police Department in the early 80's and Tommy's Auto Sales for 30 years. Syble was an expert at crocheting and enjoyed sewing and gardening, but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved everyone and had a wonderful sense of humor. Syble was always ready to lend a helping hand to those in need and was a member of Drew Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Tommy Jenkins Jones, son, Mike Jones, infant daughter, Melissa Jones, brothers, Euel Bryant and Bud Garrett, and sisters, Nell Hankins and Mildred Hamblin.

She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Buddy) Weeks of Drew, MS, son, Brad Jones of Drew, MS,  grandchildren, Marion (Andy) Abide, Grant (Casie) Weeks,  Joshua (Jennie Ann) Jones, Brandon Jones,   Weslie (Tom) Akers, and Tom (Babs) Campbell, sisters, Helen Potts  and Jean Adair, and 13 great grandchildren.

Rev. Hunter Goodin will officiate the services, Kathy McIntyre will sing. Pallbearers will be Buddy Weeks, Grant Weeks, Andy Abide, Mike Lynchard, and Randy Gray.

The family is asking everyone to practice social distancing and wear a mask for graveside services.
