Sonya K. Barry
Sonya K. Barry, 48, of Philadelphia was called to be with her Lord Jesus Christ on Saturday, March 19, 2016. She left this earthly life as the most deeply devoted daughter, sister, and aunt to her nephews who were her pride and joy. Ms. Barry was born in Jackson, MS on January 10, 1968 to Bill and Georgia Barry. She was the sweetest and most kind-hearted person who would do anything for anyone. She had a love for her many animals and enjoyed outdoor activities especially fishing. Ms. Barry was a native of Greenwood and a resident of Philadelphia for the past 10 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Greenwood and was a graduate of Greenwood High School and attended MS Delta Community College in Moorhead. She is survived by her parents Bill and Georgia Barry of Carrollton, brother, Bill Barry Jr. of Carrollton, nephews, Lane and Caleb Barry, her special aunt, Aunt Francie Cummins and her husband, James, uncle, Jimmy Barry and his wife Nancy,and many special cousins. Pallbearers will be Caleb Barry, Lane Barry, Robert Hurst, Bobby Hurst, Lee Smith, and Calvin Hunt.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Wednesday March 23, 2016 at Sparta United Methodist Church Cemetery in Holcomb, MS. Rev Ricky Reece will officiate the service. Williams and Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
