Shirley Winters Downs, 68 of Carrollton died Monday, July 4, 2016 at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Services will be Thursday July 7th at 10:00am at Williams & Lord Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00pm-7:00pm on July 6th at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Duane Jensen will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Magnolia Gardens Cemetery in Paynes, MS. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Downs was born March 15, 1948 in Charleston, MS to Charles and Lottie Mae Melton Winters in Charleston, MS. She attended Poplar Springs Baptist Church near Carrollton, MS, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Mrs. Downs is survived by her husband, Harmon Wayne Downs of Carrollton, MS, four brothers, Jimmy Winters of Tillatoba, MS, Joe Winters of Coffeeville, MS, George Winters of Big Creek, MS, Lee Winters of DeKalb, IL, and a sister Ann Ladnier of Vancleve, MS. Pallbearers will be friends and family.
