Sarah Elizabeth Brown, age 72, passed away at her home due to a battle with illness. Services for Mrs. Brown will be held at 2:00pm Monday, December 14th at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS. A visitation will be held the day of from 11:00am to 2:00pm at Williams and Lord Funeral Home. Burial will follow the services in Indianola, MS at Indianola Memorial Gardens. Reverend Laney Haley will officiate the services.
Mrs. Brown was born in Minter City on March 30, 1943 to the Bill and Dora Moore Bridges. She resided in Carroll County for over 30 years and has been a loving wife since 1961. Mrs. Brown attended public school in Louise, MS and she was a homemaker. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church in Carroll County. She is preceded in death by her father Bill Bridges a son Scott Brown, and a daughter Cathy Lynn Hughes. She is survived by her husband Sam Brown of Carrollton, her mother, Dora M. Bridges of Hattisburg, a daughter, Dana Brown, of Oxford, two brothers Bubba Bridges of Isola and Gilbert Bridges of Hattisburg, six sisters, Kay Breaux of Avalon, Margarette Green of Hattisburg, Glenda Bynum of Sumrall, Nita Kroll of Glendale, Arizona, Brenda Woods of Hattisburg, and Marilyn House of Hattisburg, grandchildren, Ashley Warren, Michael Bailey, Trey Bailey, Taylor Everett, Tyler Skipworth, and Chris Skipworth, and one great grandchild, Eli Bailey.
Pallbearers for Mrs. Brown will be Tripp Warren, Trey Bailey, Andy Duvall, Jason Blakely, David Blakely, and Lynn Haley. Honorary Pallbearer will be Michael Bailey. Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS is in charge.
