Sandra Kay Brunson Taylor was born February 20, 1942, to the late Joe Russell and Catherine Elizabeth Brunson, Jr. She lived most of her life in the Avalon Community and passed away December 30, 2018 at 76 years of age. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and a memorial service will be held there Friday, Jan. 4, 2019 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Lanny Haley officiating. Sandra was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Delta State College. She taught elementary grades at Pillow Academy, Davis and W.C. Williams Schools. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Shirley Jean (Sam) Moore, of Meridian, MS.

She is survived by her son, Erich Franklin (Lori Bowie) Taylor, daughter, Elizabeth Kay Taylor Hunt, granddaughters, Sophie Lauren Taylor, Meagan Elizabeth (Ryan Parker) Dulaney, and Anna Nicole Hunt, as well as nieces and nephews to some of whom she was more of a grandmother than aunt, brother, Joe Russell (Laura Lipe) Brunson III, and her sister, Mary Catherine (David William) Blakely continue to live in the Avalon Community.

The family sends a special "thank you" to the staff of Country Meadows Personal Care Home and Grace Hospice for the excellent and thoughtful care given to Sandra during her stay there.

Memorials may be sent to Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
