Ruby Mae "Ms. Pete" Cox , 71, of Carrollton, MS, died Thursday, February 3, 2022 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will follow in Jenkins Cemetery in Sumner, MS.

She was born December 25, 1950 in Greenwood, MS, to Thomas Coleman and Ruth Sharp Coleman. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed sewing. She was a licensed practical nurse and retired from Greenwood Leflore Hospital after 41 years. She was preceded in death by her father.

She is survived by her son, K.C. Peterson and wife Mandie of Carrollton, MS; mother, Ruth Sharp Coleman of Pelahatchie, MS; sisters, Betty Coghlan of Pelahatchie, MS, Ann Watkins of Morton, MS, and Myrtis Logan of Charleston, MS; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kaden Peterson, Justin Gentry, Drew Gentry, Kyle Watkins, Reese Patrick, and Ryan Kines.
