Roger Dale Alford , 69, of Greenwood, MS, died Tuesday, March 22, 2022 at his residence. Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 1:30 p.m. until service time.

Roger was born June 6, 1952 in Greenwood, MS, to Pearlie Hall Alford Harris where he spent most of his life. He traveled all over the United States as a truck driver until his retirement. Roger enjoyed many hobbies in his life; he loved camping, fishing, and canoeing. He spent a lot of time outside building anything, tinkering with his jeep and working in his shop. What he loved most was being a dad and a papaw, and was loved by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Kamala Mangum Alford of Greenwood, MS; children, Roger Taft Alford and wife Lauren of South Carolina,  Misti Dawn Alford of Mooreville, MS, and Bridgette Haddon Brown and husband Jeff of Carroll County, MS; grandchildren, Eli Tyra and wife Marla, Payton Tyra, Jon Aidan Brown, Rowan Alford, and Anna Ashton Brown; great-grandchildren, Jon Lucas and Chael Marshal; and sisters, Debbie Broach of Pearl, MS, and Reeda Sessum of Carrollton, MS.

Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Siddon, Ben Kuhn, Robert Floyd, and Bubba Holley.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
