Robert Anthony "Bobby" Wiggins, 66, of Carrollton, MS, died Sunday, March 31, 2024 in Abbeville, MS, after a courageous battle with cancer. He will forever remain in his family's hearts as they continue to honor him by living life to the fullest every day set by his lasting example. Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 9:30 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Lanny Haley and Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate.
Bobby was born September 10, 1957, in Greenwood, MS, to William Otis Wiggins and Daisy Harris Wiggins. He married his wife of 41 years, Melisa Tingle Wiggins, on November 26, 1980. They further built their family with the addition of their daughter, Laura Beth, who always looked up to him and shared his love for the outdoors. He was a member of Leflore Baptist Church. Bobby worked for many years as an auto mechanic up until his retirement in recent years. He enjoyed spending his time doing anything outdoors, fishing, hunting, and yardwork in beautiful Carroll County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Melisa Tingle Wiggins, brother, Frankie Wiggins, father-in-law, John Lewis Tingle, and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter Laura Beth "L.B." Wiggins (Amy Brower) of Abbeville, MS; sisters, Brenda Tanner (Gary) of the Jefferson Community; Becky Haley (Lanny) of North Carrollton, MS; brothers, Wayne Wiggins and Mike Wiggins of Carrollton, MS; mother-in-law, Carolyn Tingle of the Jefferson Community; sister-in-law, Angie Tingle (Eugene Watts) of the Jefferson Community; grandchildren, Bella Brower and Trey Brower; and numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom he loved and cared for deeply.
Pallbearers will be Jake Liddell, Jacob Bennett, Chris Miller, Josh Wiggins, Nathan Carpenter, Lynn Haley, Sha Wiggins, Bubba Tanner, and Jeromy Liddell.
The family would like to extend a special heart-felt thanks to Dr. Kenneth Hines, Dr. Joshua Griffin, Dr. Andrew Joseph Benefield, the staff at Baptist Cancer Center-Oxford, and all his recent caregivers with Baptist Home Health and Hospice.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
