Services for Robert A. Hurst Jr. will be held Saturday, April 6, 2019 1:00 PM graveside in Valley Hill Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, MS.

Mr. Hurst, age 55, died on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at his residence in Batesville, MS.

He was born on April 17, 1963 in Petersburg, VA, to Robert A. and Frances McGinnis Hurst Sr.

Robert was a U.S. Navy Veteran of 23 years and was currently employed by AT&T. He was of the Baptist faith. His hobby was repairing old trucks and was a avid fan of the New Orleans Saints.

Robert lived in Batesville for the past 14 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Hurst Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Renee Overstreet Hurst of Batesville, MS; daughters, Kelli Brown and Shelby Hurst of Batesville, MS; son, Drew Hurst of Batesville, MS; mother, Frances M. Cummins of Holcomb, MS; sister, Elizabeth Grist of Vardaman, MS; brother, Bobby Hurst of Greenwood, MS; 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Rick Shepherd will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Tyler Brown, Corey Martin, Bill Barry Jr., Zach Boyett, Hayden Ross, and Haley Ross. Honorary Pallbearers will be employees of AT&T and Direct TV .

Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post No. 29.
