Graveside services for Paula S. Szymiczek will be held Saturday, June 6, 2020 11:00 a.m. in Shute Cemetery in Carroll County, MS.

Mrs. Szymiczek, age 93, died on Monday, June 1, 2020 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood, MS.

She was born on March 07, 1927 in Augsburg, West Germany, to the late Blasius and Sharlotte Sosau Schrammel. She resided in Augsburg until 1949, was a displaced person during World War II, and moved to Mississippi in 1949, becoming a nationalized citizen 9 years later. She worked at Conmar Industries, Supreme Electronics, Greenwood Leflore Hospital, and Golden Age Nursing Home as a CNA. She also sat with the elderly. She was of the Lutherian faith and attended First Christian Church and First United Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Wladyslaw Szymiczek.

She is survived by her daughter, Ilona S. Thomas of Greenwood, MS, grandson, Travis E. Beard of Biloxi, MS, great grandchild, Lance Beard of Biloxi, MS, and sister, Lucy Pitts of Augsburg, West Germany.

Rev. Dennis Dosset will officiate the services.
