Orlando Ladd Toten, 71, of Greenwood passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 5, 2023 at his residence.
Orlando, also known as "Red" or ""Mr Toten," was a household name in Greenwood. He had over 45 years in the grocery store business and never met a stranger. Orlando took pride in working and spending time with family and friends. He was a die hard fan of LSU football and loved NASCAR. He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Hazel D Toten; father, Tullio Ferretti; sisters, Barbara Smith and Joyce Fillyaw; and nephews, Robert Eugene Smitherman, Coy Smitherman and Easton Wiggins
He is survived by his daughter, Abby Dunn of Carrollton; sister, Nellie Barmer of Coldwater; brothers, John Willie Ferretti of Columbus and Derrick Simpson of Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held Friday, October 20, 2023 1:30 PM at Locust Grove Church in Greenwood. Visitation will be 12 PM before the service in the church. Rev. Bernard Wiggins and Bishop Roger B. Jenkins III will officiate the services. He will be laid to rest at Odd Fellows East Cemetery in Greenwood.
Pallbearers will be Stan Mulvihill, Dunny Barmer, Austin Ramsey, Chris Johnson, Megan Goss and Jeanette Palmertree. Honorary pallbearers will be, Terry Bailey, Derrick Simpson, Chris Burden, Jeff Clark, John Smitherman, Tristan Wiggins and John Robert Smitherman.
