Obituary

Graveside services for O.D. Little Jr. will be 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, 2023 at Centerville Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County, MS, with visitation 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate.

He was born on August 23, 1940, to the union of Omar Dean Little and Adine Gordon Little in Sunflower County, MS. He was reared in the Delta area and continued to live there for most of his life. After retirement he moved to Kosciusko, for 18 years and later returned to Greenwood.

O.D. accepted Christ and was baptized at Unity Baptist Church in Hesterville, MS. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed hunting in his younger days. O.D. loved farming and as a result enjoyed his career as a farm manager. Even after retiring, he continued to have a truck patch farm. In 1967, he met the love of his life and long-time companion Dianne. O.D. was the father to three boys and three girls.

O.D. Little departed this life on Tuesday, September 19, 2023. He was preceded in death by his father, Omar Denton Little, mother, Adine Gordon Little, his daughter, Teresa Ann Little, his daughter, Melissa Little Steinmetz, his brother, Odie Little, two grandchildren, Matthew and Daniel Little, and three sisters, Omardine Carroll, Colleen Swindle, and Maudine Harrell.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Dianne Little of Greenwood, MS; son, Richard Little of Cleveland, MS; son, Obie Little (Jennifer) of McAlester, OK; daughter, Tina Page (Mark) of Carlsbad, NM; son, Monroe Little of Greenwood, MS; three sisters, Maurine Flynn of Greenwood, MS, Nadine Doster of Jackson, MS, and Pauline Hollingsworth of Mendenhall, MS; grandchildren, Keith Little of Pensacola, FL, Ryan Page of Monahans, TX, Tiffanie Gillan of Shoreview, MN, Terah Little of Tupelo, MS, Amy Steinmetz and Marranda Huffman of Bonnieville, KY, Austin Little of Greenwood, MS, Trinity Hiner of McAlester, OK, Brandon Little of WA, and Richard, Ember, Paislei, and Arya Little all of Cleveland, MS; 14 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Acey, Thomas Carroll, Obie Little, Richard Little, Mark Page, and Ryan Page.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
