Norma Jean Townsend Burchfield , 78, of Ruleville, MS, died Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at North Sunflower Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m.  Saturday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 12 p.m. until service time. Burial will be in Drew Cemetery. Rev. Larry Chouccoli will officiate.

Norma was born September 9, 1944 to Horace Townsend and Hattie Bell Townsend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Burchfield; son, Ronnie Burchfield; brother, Ray Townsend; and brother-in-law, Ronell Leach.

She is survived by her son, Billy Burchfield of Ruleville, MS; brothers, Travis Townsend of Drew, MS, and Jimmy Townsend of Drew, MS; sisters, Dorothy Leach of Indianola, MS, Helen Kunefke of Sour Lake, TX, and Linda Weeks of Minter City, MS; granddaughter, C.J. Bain and husband Josh of Bruce, MS; grandson, Patrick Burchfield and wife Jessica of Drew, MS; and three great-grandchildren, Rhealyn Bain, Madi Grace Bain, and Tucker Burchfield.

Pallbearers will Patrick Burchfield, Josh Bain, David Townsend, Michael Leach, Kenny Glover, and Chance Robinson.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home of Ruleville is in charge of arrangements.
