Services for Sue (Mama) Brasel will be held Sunday, July 23, 2017 3:00 PM at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Ms. Brasel, age 85, died on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Golden Age Nursing Home in Greenwood. She was born on March 22, 1932 in Water Valley, MS, to the late Patrick and Lou Cosby McNamee and lived in the Itta Bena area for over 61 years. She was a graduate of Water Valley High School. She worked for Leflore County High School in the cafeteria and worked for Fred's Department Store for over 24 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Itta Bena.

She is survived by her sons, J.D. Brasel, Jr. (Amy Gee) of Itta Bena, MS, and Ray Brasel (Suzanne) of Itta Bena, MS; daughter, Alice Grimsley (Jeff Walker) of Carrollton, MS; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday July 23, 2017 from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM at the funeral home. Rev Higdon Herrington will officiate the services  with Bro. Laney Haley. Pallbearers will be Lynn Haley, Johnny Brasel, Trey Brasel, Clint Evans, T.J. Evans, and Eli Belk. Honorary Pallbearers will be  Johnathan Gee, Cam Belk, Dr Kenneth Hines, Tommy Hargrove, and Tommy Evans. Burial will be in Itta Bena Cemetery.
