Mildred Jeanette Goss , 79, of Greenwood, MS, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, February 22, 2020 from North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Officiating the services will be her brother, Rev. Robert Weldon and nephew, Jeremiah Weldon. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery in Carroll County.

Mrs. Goss was born October 16, 1940 the eldest of eight siblings. She was a lifelong resident of Greenwood, MS. She married the love of her life, James "Duck" Goss, Sr. on July 17, 1959 and shared a bond lasting 60 years. Mrs. Goss spent her life as a homemaker; she was a member of the Salvation Army Church, raising her children in the Baptist faith. She was a yard sale enthusiast, loved bingo, and a telephone junkie; she loved to socialize with numerous friends and family throughout the day and night. She was preceded in death by her parents, Major and Estelle Weldon; brother, Joe Weldon; three sisters, Helen Brown, Sue Aaron, and Ann Croft; special nephew, Joey Slaton; and brother in-law, Jesse Winstead.

She leaves behind her spouse, James "Duck" Goss, Sr. of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Lynette Coleman and husband Frankie of Arkansas; son, James "Bubba" Goss, Jr. and wife Susan of Nettleton, MS; brothers, Rev. Robert Weldon and wife Wilda of Houlka, MS, and Pete Weldon and wife Angie of Houlka, MS; sister, Varnell Winstead of Greenwood, MS; four grandchildren, Marie Coleman Reese and husband Wesley, Cliff Coleman of Arkansas, Jammie Goss Milner and husband Matthew of Meridian, MS, and Will Goss and wife Morgan of Saltillo, MS; and four great-grandchildren, Alex, Makayla, Logan Reese of Arkansas, and Abby Kayte Goss of Saltillo, MS.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Will Goss and Cliff Coleman, great grandson, Alex Reese, and special friends and family, Matthew Milner, Mike Hunt, and Troy Motsinger.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
