Services for Michael Daniel Barker will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2016 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.

Mr. Barker, age 42, died on Thursday, September 8, 2016 from a gunshot wound in Greenwood, MS.

He was born on May 9, 1974 in Redwood City, California to Fred Barker and Delma Katherine Mendes and lived in the Greenwood area for most of his life. He worked as a tree surgeon for Shane Sanders Tree Service for over 17 years. He was a member of Walton Chapel Church of God in Minter City, MS.

He is survived by his step parents Phillip and Lisa Ross of Minter City, MS; four sons, Blake Barker of Van Cleave, MS, Shelby Parker of Greenwood, MS, Bobby Bowers of Greenwood, MS, and Michael Barker of Greenwood, MS; fiancé, Tabitha Bowers of Greenwood, MS; two brothers, Daniel Bryant of Greenwood, MS, and Daniel Ross of Ocean Springs, MS; three sisters, Amanda Bryant of Minter City, MS, Jennifer Ross of Ocean Springs, MS, and Sabrina Bryant of Minter City, MS, and 2 grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Rev. Lennie Maples will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be, Daniel Bryant, Phillip Ross, Richard Lollar, Anthony Nance, Eric Johnson, Dwayne Winters. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Johnny Sanders, Shane Sanders. Entombment will be in Odd Fellows Mausoleum.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home has been entrusted by the family with the arrangements.
