Mary Elizabeth Taylor Ashmore, 78 of Carrollton died Monday, August 10, 2015 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital.
Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, August 13, 2015 at Malmaison Baptist Church. Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Malmaison Baptist Church. Burial will be in Malmaison Baptist Church Cemetery. Rev. Eddie Carpenter will officiate.
She was born June 8, 1937 to Sidney and Hassie Fant Taylor, Sr. in Carroll County. She was a graduate of J.Z. George High School and West Memphis Community College. She was a homemaker and also employed at Rocky Manufacturing in Greenwood for several years She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary in West Memphis, Ark. She was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church and head of the Hospitality and Ladies Bible Club. Her hobbies were playing cards and visiting with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband Felix Odell Ashmore, Sr. on June 19, 2015 and her parents.
Mrs. Ashmore is survived by two sons Bubba Ashmore and wife Dixie of Carrollton, Ronnie Ashmore and wife Dottie of Greenville, MS, one daughter Wanda Ashmore Lanier of Carrollton, four brothers Mabry Taylor and wife Sue of Tulsa, OK, Edwin "Peck" Taylor, Sr. and wife Sarah Margaret of Jacksonville, FL, Robert Taylor and wife Betty of Carrollton, and Pat Taylor and wife Brenda of Carrollton. She is also survived by ten grandchildren Nacie, Tim, Tanya, Bradley, Nikki, Larry, Little Ronnie, Lauren, Dee and Amanda. Eight great-grandchildren Mary Elizabeth, Hudson, Jackson, Hayden, Tripp, Brayden, Eastin, and Gavin.
Pallbearers will be Sid Taylor, Eddie Taylor, Trey Taylor, Miles Raney, Drew Henson, and Anthony Henson. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of Malmaison Baptist Church.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home of Greenwood is in charge of arrangements.
