Mary Ann
Martin
Aug 21, 1942 — Dec 23, 2025
Greenwood
Mary Ann Martin, 83, passed away, peacefully, Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at her home, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be from 11am to 2pm Monday, December 29, 2025 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS, with service to immediately follow visitation. Brother Miles Rainey will officiate. Burial will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mary Ann was born August 21, 1942 in Coffeeville, MS, to Clayton and Ruby Fisk. She spent most of her youth helping care for her many younger siblings and lending a hand around the garden. In 1957, Mary Ann married the love of her life, Vernon Martin, and enjoyed 62 years of love until his passing in 2019.
An avid cook, Mary Ann will be remembered fondly by her family and friends for her amazing meals, especially her fried potatoes and homemade biscuits. Since retiring from Medart Lockers several decades ago, Mary Ann enjoyed visiting with her family, listening to gospel music, and canning tomatoes. In her later years, Mary Ann would spend time reminiscing and telling stories of her life with her family over a hot cup of coffee. She will forever be cherished as the matriarch of a large family- a lady referred to as Sister Girl, Dee, Maw Maw, and Mom.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, and daughter, Kathy Heath. Mary Ann is survived by her four children: David Martin (Frances), Lisa Daves, Jerry Martin, and Randy Martin (Beth), 15 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren with another one on the way. Also left to remember Mary Ann are her sisters Nell Martin, Carolyn Hutchens, Bobbie Ellis, Esther Rose, and Joann Bailey.
Serving as pallbearers are Cody Shaw, Brandon Bailey, Tyler Hood, Bryan Martin, Brandon Daves, and Cody McCaleb.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Brette Ansley, Carter Perry, Natalie Martin, and the staff of Vital Caring Hospice for the care, compassion, and kindness provided during this time.
