Mary Brunson Blakely , 75, of Carrollton, MS, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, April 24, 2022 at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with visitation 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate. Burial will be in Moore's Memorial Cemetery.

Mrs. Blakely was born November 7, 1946 in Grenada, MS, to Joe Russell Brunson, Jr.  and Catherine Willing Brunson. She resided most of her life in Carroll County. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church and was a homemaker. She attended Valley School in Teoc, MS; she could always be found sitting on the porch with her sisters, Shirley and Sandra, and lifelong friend, Mary Frances. She could always be found shopping at Belk with her husband David. In 2011 she married her husband of twelve years, David Blakely. Mary was known as "Zippie" by her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Smith; sisters, Shirley Moore, and Sandra Taylor; and her parents.

She is survived by her husband, David Blakely of Carrollton, MS; son, Timothy Beasley of Carrollton, MS; daughter, Susan Crews and husband John of Cameron, MO; step-sons, Shane Blakely of Oxford, MS, Jason Blakely of Carrollton, MS, Andrew Blakely of Carrollton, MS; brother, Joe Russell III of Carrollton, MS; aunt, IV Freeman of Carrollton, MS; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren; and her caregiver, Christy Holloway.

Pallbearers will be Shane Blakely, Jason Blakely, Andrew Blakely, John Crews, and Kenny Wiggins.
