Marvin Watkins Nicholson, Jr. 78, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died Saturday, June 6, 2026, at Tyler Holmes Memorial Hospital in Winona. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at Williams and Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Mitchell Long will officiate the services.

He was born February 1, 1948, to the late Marvin W. Nicolson, Sr. and Delois Coats Nicholson in Greenwood, and resided in the Greenwood area all of his life. He was a self-employed carpenter for many years before his retirement. He loved animals, especially horses. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife of 53 years, Judy Nicholson; brothers, Harold Nicholson and Paul Nicholson; and sisters, Mary Ingram, Shirley Carpenter, and Doris Counts.

He is survived by his daughter, Melinda (Eddie) Nance of Winona, MS; sons, Justin (Beth) Nicholson of Greenwood, MS, and Philip (Rhonda) Nicholson of Chandler, OK; grandchildren, Keesler Cox, Drew Nicholson, Morgan Nance, Mary Leesam Nicholson, Caroline Nicholson, and Ann Sutton Nicholson; and  great grandchildren, Gavin Cox and Deliah Cox.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Ingram, Jim Carpenter, Harold Nicholson, Jr., Tyler Staples, Adam Staples, and Gene Simpson.
