Margaret Slawson Goss Kitchens, 93, of Greenwood, MS, died Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 10 a.m. until service time. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County.

Mrs. Kitchens was born July 6, 1929 to John Alford Slawson and Ella Campbell Slawson. She was a member of New Jerusalem Baptist Church. She worked as a nurse's aid and a dietician at Greenwood Leflore Hospital until her retirement. She enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Ella Rebenia Melton; sons, Alford Lee Goss, John Forrest Goss, and Kenneth Gene Goss; grandchildren, Robyn Nicole Singley and Marshall Dale Goss III; and her husbands, John Chester Goss and David Paul Kitchens.

She is survived by her sons, James E. Goss, Sr. and wife Donna of Duck Hill, MS, and Marshall D. Goss, Sr. and wife Jeanett of Ripley, TN; daughter, Margaret "Cookie" Goss Miles and husband Terry of Greenwood, MS; eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be David Lewis, Westley Minga, Gene Clardy, John Clardy, Russell Clardy, Preston Clardy, Will Goss, Walker Goss, and Douglas Goss.
