Lloyd George Overly, 81, of Greenwood died Thursday October 15, 2020 at his residence. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, October 18, 2020 in Odd Fellows Cemetery with the Rev. Mitchell Long officiating.
Mr Overly was born October 25, 1938 to the late Earnest Lloyd and Mamie Scanlan Overly in Gueydan, LA. He was a veteran of both the US Army and US Marine corps. He was employed by Overly Electric, Upchurch Plumbing, and Upchurch Rental for a number of years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Greenwood. Mr. Overly is preceded in death by his sister, Irene Peoples and two brothers, Kenny Overly and Robert "Woody" Overly.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Louise Andrews Overly of Greenwood, MS; two daughters, Susan Calder (Lloyd) of Brandon, MS and Brandy Boudreau of Bossier City, LA; three step sons , Wayne Kesterson (Penny) of Money, MS, Gary Andrews (Bonnie) of Carrollton, MS, and Edward "Bubba" Andrews of Greenwood, MS; seven grandchildren, Kristy Turner (Jeff) of Vaiden, MS, Tommy Andrews of El Campo, TX, Chelsea Scarbrough (Michael) of Pearl, MS, Tiffany McWilliams (Jack) of Cleveland, MS, Bailey Boudreau of Bossier City, LA, Carson Boudreau of Bossier City, LA, Nolan Boudreau of Bossier City, LA; seven great grandchildren, Branden Andrews, Dillon Turner, Lee Andrews, Jamye Turner, Stephanie Scarbrough, Lilly McWilliams, and Lucy McWilliams; a great-great granddaughter, Jurnee Lynn Palmer; two sisters, Loyce Overly Dykes (James) of Greenwood, MS and Flossie Overly Acy (Bobby) of Blackhawk, MS.
Pallbearers will be Robbie Upchurch, Mike Upchurch, Mike Hawkins, David Upchurch, Sammy Overly, Jeff Leamond, Randy Henderson, and Michael Scarbrough. Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of Upchuch Rental.
