L.C. Andrews, 92, of Greenwood died Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at Mississippi State Veterans Home in Kosciusko. Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2016 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, July 29, 2016 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev. Dennis McKay will officiate at the services. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.
Mr. Andrews was born January 27, 1924 in Inverness, MS, to John E. Andrews and Mary Downs Andrews. He was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. He served in the United States Army in World War II, where he received two Bronze Stars, the Purple Heart and a Victory Eam Ribbon. He served in the Infantry Regiment 10th division. He was preceded in death by his wife of over 43 years Flora Bell Andrews and a son Charles Andrews.
Mr. Andrews was elected and served as a Leflore County Constable from 1978 to 1996. He worked for the Leflore County Sheriff's Department from 1996 to 2004.
He is survived by his daughter, Renee Ussery of Ragley, LA; son, Larry Andrews of Greenwood, MS; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
