Laura C. McGregor, 91 of McCarley passed away Monday, December 28, 2015 at her residence. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. til service time at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenoaks Cemetery in Baton Rouge, LA. Rev. Phillip Clark will officiate.
Mrs. McGregor was born in Hammond, LA to the late W.W. Courtney and Susie Martha Bullock Courtney. She was a graduate of Denham Springs High School and attended Hinds Community College. She was a resident of Baton Rouge most of her life and lived in Carroll County the past 30 years. She was a homemaker and worked at the family western store and other business enterprises. She was an active member of McCarley Baptist Church and was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
She was the widow of the late Robert Dowe McGregor and first husband Murray E. Martin.
Mrs. McGregor is survived by her daughter Patricia Forde of Carrollton, son Michael Martin of Denham Springs,LA, two sisters Willie "B" Edwards of Denham Springs, LA, and Joyce Bankston of Denham Springs, LA. Five grandchildren Rachel Ovalle, Dawn Howard, Holly Martin, Curtis Forde and Seth Martin. Six great-grandchildren Dylan Williams, Christopher Van, Matthew Martin, Eden Howard and Asher Howard and John Michael Martin. Two step great-grandchildren Valeria Ovalle and Daniella Ovalle.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Williams, Ray Bankston, Raul Ovalle, Brandon Eddards, Collins Landry and Henry Day. Honorary pallbearer will be and Percy Bankston.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
