Obituary

Kenneth Acy Dunn , 72, of Black Hawk, MS, died Monday, September 25, 2017 at his residence. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 29, 2017 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. Dennis Sullivan will officiate at the services. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Dunn was born November 22, 1944 in Black Hawk, MS, to Henry Allen Dunn, Sr. and Clarice Acy Dunn. He was graduate of Greenwood High School. Upon retirement from the Greenwood Fire Department, he served as assistant fire chief. He later worked in maintenance at Carroll Academy and J.Z. George High School. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, great-grandchildren and attending Carroll Academy football games. He is mostly remembered for his love of life and always instigating or playing a prank on someone, "Aint that right Albert?" He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Jean Robertson Dunn, sister, Charlotte Downs, and his parents.

Mr. Dunn is survived by his daughters, Melissa Dunn McDaniel of Greenwood, MS, and Faith Blakely of Black Hawk, MS; two brothers, Malone Dunn and wife Muffet of Black Hawk, MS, and Henry Allen Dunn, Jr. and wife Joan of McCarley, MS; three grandchildren, Mallie Ellis and husband Jason of Richmond, KY, Brande Jones and husband Michael of Greenwood, MS, and Kaitlin McDaniel and Reed Hargrove of Oxford, MS; and six great-grandchildren, Bella Jones, Emma Grace Hargrove, Jaxon Jones, Anna Reese Ellis, Sarah Tate Ellis, and Charles Acy Ellis.

Pallbearers will be Nathan Dunn, Tony Dunn, Trey Dunn, Chris Dunn, Skooter Vaughn, Brad Carver, Jim Holly, and Richie Wiltshire. Honorary pallbearers will be Albert Carver, Dr. Walter Moses, Jimmy Holly, Boot Ellis, and Johnny Castle.
