Judy Anne Carpenter, 59, of Greenwood died Monday, October 3, 2016 at Crystal Health & Rehab. Visitation will be 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 6 at North Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Phillipston Baptist Church Cemetery. Dr. Jim Phillips will officiate. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Greenwood, MS, to the late James E. Makamson, Jr. and Barbara Ann Box Makamson. She attended the University of Tennessee and Mississippi Delta Community College where she received her registered nurse degree. She resided in Greenwood most of her life and was a RN at Greenwood Leflore Hospital for 38 years in labor and delivery. She attended Phillipston Baptist Church and was a member of North Greenwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son, Justin Carpenter of Greenwood, MS; sister, Joyce Berry and husband David of Sugar Land, TX, two brothers, James Makamson III of Greenwood, MS and John Makamson of Hattiesburg, MS. She is also survived by her niece, Lisa Berry, step-daughter, Tanya Carpenter, and granddaughter Devyn Carpenter.
