Johnny Ray McCool, 66, of Sidon, MS, died Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at his residence. Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Phillipson Baptist Church. Rev. Wade Johnson will officiate.

Johnny was born December 18, 1957, in Pickens, AL, to Samuel Grady McCool and Noite Estelle White McCool. He was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed fishing, NASCAR, and spending time with family and friends at the Blue Magnolia. He worked for Upchurch Plumbing for over thirty years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Huggins McCool; his parents; brother, Eugene McCool; sisters, Nellie Ruth Miller, Opal Gay McCool, Annie Grace McCool, and Ruby McCool; granddaughter, Elizabeth Denton; stepson, Tony Denton; stepdaughter-in-law, Tammie Burden Denton; and great grandson, Noah Bland

He is survived by his stepdaughters, Kim Littleton of Greenwood, MS, and Gay Boshers of Sidon, MS; stepson, James Denton of Greenwood, MS; brothers, Rayford McCool of Pickens, AL, and Billy McCool of Pickens, AL; sister, Jewel Gay McCool of Pickens, AL; four grandchildren, Shelby Littleton, Amanda Bland, and Jamie Denton; three great grandchildren, Addie Bland, and Skylar Bland; and several nieces and nephews.
