Jesse Wilson "J.W." Jenkins, 83, of Carrollton, MS, died Friday, May 9, 2025, at Riverview Nursing Home in Greenwood, MS. Services will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 2 p.m. until service time. Bro. Wilton Neal will officiate.

He was born June 15, 1941, in Carroll County, MS, to Jim Tom Jenkins and Essie Mae Beam Jenkins. He attended New Bethel Baptist Church. He worked cutting trees, landscaping, logging, and was a plumber. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends, listening to music, and being outdoors working on old trucks. He lived in many states from Texas to California but eventually came back home to Carrollton. He was always making people laugh with his jokes and never liked to sit still.   He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Beth Floyd; sisters, Alice Haley and Margaret Cummings; brothers, Pete Jenkins, Mack Arthur Jenkins, and James Jenkins; and his parents.

J.W. is survived by his daughters, Jessica Jenkins of Ripley, MS, and Vickie Lea McCain and husband Mark of McCarley, MS; son, Robert Jenkins of Carrollton, MS; long time companion, Brenda Lee Johnson of Carrollton, MS; sisters, Adell Davis of North Carrollton, MS, and Willie Lee "Honey" Haley of Greenwood, MS; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
