Chunn

Beulah
James Melvin Chunn, 80, known by many as "Jimmy" and affectionally known as "Pops" by those closest to him, went to be with his Lord and Savior on May 14, 2026. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Ruleville Baptist Church with services following at 11 a.m. Dr. Arthur R. Scott and Rev. Thomas Anderson will be officiating. Interment will follow in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville, MS.
Pops was born June 22, 1945, to Melvin H. Chunn and Veeta M. Chunn, the baby of all his siblings. Pops lived a full life and was always the life of the party to anyone that was around. He had a robust sense of humor and enjoyed playing jokes on others. In his younger years he enjoyed his family, racing, and fishing. He built his dream home on Lake Beulah to pursue that passion. Pops retired from Baxter in Cleveland, MS.
Pops is preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Veeta; his siblings, Darrel Chunn and Peggy Bardwell; a daughter, Tina Henry; his wife Ruby Allred Chunn; and a stepson Leo Allred.
Pops is survived by a sister, Jeri McDaniel of Magnolia, MS; sons, Keith Chunn (Rebecca) of Leland, MS; and Jason Chunn of Ida, AR; stepson, Timmy Allred (Donna) of Southaven, MS; grandchildren, Ryan K. Chunn, Angela Noel, Jeremy Henry, and Ryan C. Chunn; step granddaughter, Madison Allred; several great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews all of which he loved deeply.
Pops' services will be under the direction of Williams and Lord Funeral Home of Ruleville, MS.
