Obituary

James William "Bill" McNeer, 75, of Leflore, MS, died Sunday, April, 28, 2024 at his residence. Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday April 30, 2024 at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God with Rev. James Woodall, Rev. Bernard Wiggins, and Rev. Granville Wiggins officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM till 2:00 PM on Tuesday at the church. Burial will follow in Leflore Baptist Church Cemetery with military rites performed by American Legion Post # 29.

Mr. McNeer was born August 28, 1948 to the late James Herman McNeer and Bessie Mae Bailey McNeer in Cumberland County, NC. He resided in the Leflore area since 1962. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He retired from GE as a computer tech. He was a man of strong faith and was a member of Abundant Life Church of God, serving as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon for 40 years. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Shirley Stevens and Patricia Hayes; and aunts, Sue McNeer Montgomery and Jessie Bailey.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Wiggins McNeer of Holcomb, MS; daughters, Melody McNeer of Holcomb, MS, and Tara Daves of Holcomb, MS; son, Brian McNeer (Lyndsay) of Huntsville, AR; brother, Mike McNeer of Holcomb, MS; grandchildren, Shannon Tillman (Nicole), Katie Kelly (Trey), Anna Claire Brown (Dougie), Emily Montgomery (Andrew), Ashley Correro (Mitch), Hunter McNeer, Taylor McNeer, and Parker Daves; and eleven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Mitch Correro, Dougie Brown, Andrew Montgomery, Trey Kelly, Trampus Skelton, Chris Barefoot, Gee Wiggins, and William Shackleford. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike McNeer, Hunter McNeer, Taylor McNeer, Shannon Tillman, and Parker Daves
