Ina Maurine Dewett Goss, 80 of Avalon died Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at University Medical Center in Grenada. Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2016 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home and Friday 1p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Moore's Memorial Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Goss was born to the late Wiley Turner Dewett and Limmie Bell Day Dewett on July 8, 1935 in Swifttown, MS. She was retired as Floor Secretary at the Greenwood Leflore Hospital. She was a member of Valley Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband Olin Glenn Goss, Sr. son Randall Wayne Goss, sisters Annie Mae Pinkerton, Bertha Avant, Mildred Taylor. Brothers J.T. and Buck Dewett. She was active in her church when she played piano, organ and taught GA's and Sunday School.
She is survived by four sons Olin Goss Jr., of Avalon,MS, Wendell Goss and wife Sherry of Avalon, MS, Chris Goss of Holcomb and Eric Goss of Birmingham, two daughters Marilyn Goss Rich and husband Jerry of Cairo, Georgia and Deborah Goss Creekmore and husband Robert of Greenwood, MS. She is also survived by one brother Ed Dewett, four sisters Dot Murff, Dean Taylor, Joyce Toombs and Faye Gatlin, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Cheek, Ronnie Cheek, Cody Goss, Robert Creekmore, Ryan Goss , and Johnny Germany.
