Howard Chack Ju, 93, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, in Greenwood, Mississippi, at Riverview Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center. He was born on December 10, 1932, in Canton, China. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 19, 2025 at Williams and Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Visitation will held from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Rev. Lanny Haley will officiate the service.

Howard was a devoted husband and father to his five children. He was known for his charming personality, generosity, and hospitality. A tireless entrepreneur, he started several successful businesses including Flood Food Market, Hoi Sai Restaurant, as well as owned many commercial and residential rentals properties.

Howard served in the US Army as a trained cook during the Korean War era while stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. After his discharge from military service, he moved to Greenwood from Gary, Indiana. Howard was introduced to his future wife by her relatives in Greenwood and subsequently traveled to Hong Kong to marry her. Howard and his bride would return to Greenwood, become lifelong business partners and raise five children.

Howard was not only an entrepreneur, but enjoyed the simple pleasures of the rural lifestyle including gardening, fishing, hunting, raising livestock, and finally realized his life long dream of opening and operating a Chinese Restaurant.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Wailing Ju, and son, Herbert Ju. He is survived by his children,  Hiron Ju,  Xiaoli Ju, Margaret Joe, Humphrey (KaBien), and Homer Ju; and grandchildren, Trevor Ju, Ford Ju, and Mae Ju.
