Homer "Vernon" Martin, Jr. 84, of Greenwood, MS, died Saturday, June 1, 2019 at his residence. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be 11 a.m. until service time. Rev. Larry Shackleford will officiate. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery.

Mr. Martin was born in Marks, MS, to the late Archie Homer Martin and Clara Austin Martin. He was a welder at Medart Locker for 36 years. He was a member of Lighhouse Ministries of Greenwood. His hobbies were gardening and fishing. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy Ann Martin Heath, brother, and three sisters.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife of 62 years, Mary Ann Martin of Greenwood, MS; daughter, Lisa Daves of Greenwood, MS; three sons, Vernon David Martin and wife Frances of Greenwood, MS, Jerry William Martin of Carrollton, MS, and Randy Wayne Martin and wife Beth of Holcomb, MS; son-in-law, Roy Heath of Greenwood, MS; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Cody Shaw, Joey Butts, Brandon Bailey, Bryan Martin, Andy Head, David Martin, Jr., Austin Prudhomme, and Tyler Hood. Honorary Pallbearers will be Roy Heath, Timothy Heath, Jeremey Martin, and Brandon Daves.
