Services for Hilda Steed Starnes of Ruleville, MS. will be held Wednesday, January 24, 2018 02:00 PM at Ruleville Baptist Church in Ruleville, MS.

Mrs. Starnes, age 90, died on Saturday, January 20, 2018 at Indywood Personal Care in Indianola.

She was born on September 18, 1927 in Lowes, MS, to the late Clarence and Mamie Boyd Steed.   She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh "Shorty" Darrell Starnes, brother, Obie D. Steed and her daughter- in- law, Debbie Starnes.

Hilda enjoyed camping, playing cards and baking. She was a member of Ruleville Baptist Church.

She is survived by sons, Gregg Starnes of Charleston, MS, and Mark (Rhonda) Starnes of Ruleville, MS, daughters, Wanda (Roy) Nicholson of Bastrop, LA, and Joy(Tim) Jones of New Iberia, LA, sister, Jean Morris of Southaven, MS, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Ruleville Baptist Church. Rev. Robert Haney will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Austin Starnes, Bo Clowers, Chance Clowers, Carson Clowers, Beachum Jones, and Ryan Gaspard. Burial will follow in Lehrton Cemetery.
