Henry Hanford Bridges, Jr., 89, of Greenwood, Mississippi, died on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at UMMC in Jackson. Funeral services will be held at a later date.

Mr. Bridges was born on August 19, 1936, in Jefferson Davis County, MS, to the late Henry Hanford Bridges, Sr. and Roxie McMillan Bridges. He was a truck driver in the U.S. Army while serving in Germany. He was an auto body mechanic for several years before his retirement and was of the Baptist faith. He is preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his daughter, Cynthia Melton of Greenwood, MS, and a granddaughter, Ashley Nicole DeFord of Winona, MS.
