Hazel Earline Smith Meriwether , 84, of Carrollton, MS, died Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at her residence. Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Valley Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Gary Tanner will officiate.  Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Meriwether was born in Sunflower County to G.A. Smith and Myrtle Marie Hurst Smith. She resided in Carroll County since 1976, and she was retired from Supreme Electronics in Greenwood, MS.

Mrs. Meriwether was a member of Malmaison Baptist Church in Carroll County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Meriwether; son, Craig Meriwether; her parents; and six brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Haddon of Carrollton, MS; sister, Gail Long of Greenwood, MS; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
