Mrs. Hattie Irene McCain, 59, of Schlater, passed away Sunday at her residence of heart failure. Services will be Wednesday September 9th at 2pm in the Williams and Lord Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Bernard Wiggins will officiate.

Mrs. McCain was born July 11th 1956 in Montgomery County to the late Claude and Elizabeth Plank Collins. She was a graduate of Winona High School and attended Mississippi State University. She resided in Jackson, MS for 10 years, but lived most of her life in Leflore County. She worked for Lu's Food Market, Schlater Quick Stop, and Heartland Catfish. She was a member of Schlater Baptist Church and attended Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God in Greenwood.

Mrs. McCain is preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, Claude Collins Jr. and Johnny Collins. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Jeff McCain; 3 daughters, Laura E. Smith (Rodney) of Toledo, OH, Becky McCain (Gumaro) of Schlater, MS, and Billie Jo McCain of Arab, AL; one sister, Janie Logan of Winona, MS, one brother, Robert Collins of Stewart, MS, and 5 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Timmy Gazeway, Clint McCain, Joe Evans, Hunter Walton, Jody Turney, and Willie Hoskins. Visitation will be 5pm to 8pm tonight, Tuesday September 8th, at Williams and Lord, as well as from noon till service time Wednesday.
