Guy Dewitt Britt, Sr. 86, of Stewart, MS, died Thursday, February 13, 2025, at his residence. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at McNutt Cemetery in Schlater, MS. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Jay Burleson will officiate.

Guy was born December 30, 1938, in Linn, MS, to Horace Elijah Britt, Sr. and Lydia Emily Smith Britt. He was a member of Minter City United Methodist Church. He retired from being a long-time crop farmer, and for a brief time he was a cattle farmer and welder. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, collecting arrowheads, walking in his pasture with his dogs, and gardening. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Meeks Britt; father, Horace E. Britt; mother, Lydia Smith Britt; brothers, Horace E. Britt, Jimmy G. Britt, and Howard Britt; and daughter, Hazel Ann Britt.

He is survived by children, Pamela B. Inman and husband Ronnie of Carrollton, MS, Guy D. Britt, Jr. and wife Yvonne of Stewart, MS, and Jimmy Britt and wife Lora of Briceville, FL; sister, Lynda Burleson and husband Bill of Greenwood, MS;  grandchildren, Greg Dees and wife Roxanne, Shannon Haddon, Derek Britt and wife Brandie, Karen Coggins and husband Evan, Stephanie Miller and husband Tim, and Austen Britt and wife Maika; great grandchildren, Johannah Dees, Emily Miller, Sarah Britt Dees, Aaron Miller, Kaylee Haddon, Lucy Mae Miller, Bryce Coggins, Avery Miller, Maley Coggins, Carson Britt, Zoey Miller, and Krissy Ellington; and great-great grandchild, Tatum Ellington.

Pallbearers will be Bryce Coggins, Carson Britt, Greg Dees, Derek Britt, Evan Coggins, and Barry Cannon.
