Obituary

Glynice Malone Horne, 69, of Carrollton, MS, died Thursday, December 14, 2024, at University Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church with visitation 12:30 p.m. until service time. The burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery in Carroll County, MS. Rev. Lanny Haley and Rev. Patrick Collins will officiate.

Glynice was born September 18, 1955, in Greenwood, MS, to William Glenn Malone and Eula Bennett Malone. She was an active member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and retired from the Federal Compress which was later Louis Dryfus after 48 years.

Glynice, who was known as GG, was devoted to her family, friends, and church. She enjoyed nothing more than serving others, especially her children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. She loved traveling, antiques, auctions, spending time with family, and attending any event that involved loved ones. She was a constant source of entertainment with her sense of humor and beaming grin.

She was respected for the love and thoughtfulness she put into everyone she knew. Glynice will be remembered for bringing her great joy when displaying her love for others through acts of kindness and her reliable presence. She was always available to those who needed her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Horne, and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Horne of Carrollton, MS; daughter, Angie Cole and husband Robert of Schlater, MS; sisters, Carolyn Hoover and husband Donnie of Carrollton, MS, Linda Evans of Clinton, MS, and Brenda Hicks of Carrollton, MS; brother, Terry Malone and wife Brenda of Carrollton, MS; and three grandchildren, Micah Crick, Olivia Crick, and Mia Cole.

Pallbearers will be Drake Plunkett, Colby Newman, Eric Haddon, Trinity Hoover, Terry Malone, and Ganes Bankston. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Hardy. Donnie Hoover, and Jesse Denley.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
