Services for Georgia Mae Lester will be held Saturday April 02, 2016 3:00PM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Lester, age 71 died on Wednesday March 30, 2016 at Greenwood Leflore Hospital of heart failure.
She was born on December 02, 1944 in Harmony Community, MS to the late George "Buck" and Maybell Boyles Ellis and lived in Greenwood, MS. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church in the Harmony Community in Carroll County. She was a devoted wife to her late husband and a loving mother to her only child, James Lester Jr. Mrs. Lester loved to spend time in her kitchen cooking for her loved ones and tending to her garden. She enjoyed spending time reading her bible and was very active in the Harmony Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, James Lester Jr of Steens, MS and one sister, Shirley Tackett of the Harmony Community in Carroll County and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Friday April 1, 2016 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood then again Saturday April 2, 2016 from 1:30pm to service time at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Rev Larry Edwards will officiate the services. Pallbearers will be Cliff Barefoot, George Barefoot, Billy R. Philley, Billy R. Philly Jr., Dennis Waldo, and Robbie McLellan. Honorary Pallbearer will be Dr. Douglass Bowden. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery following the service at the funeral home.
Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge. Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church.
