Services for Frances Emogene Stokes will be held Tuesday November 8, 2016 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood, MS.
Mrs. Stokes, age 80 died on Thursday, November 3, 2016 in Milton, FL, from heart failure.
She was born on April 20, 1936 in Leflore County, Mississippi to the late Ernest and Neppy Palmertree Jackson. She was a graduate of J.Z. George High School in Carroll County. Ms. Stokes was an accomplished musician and was a retired officer from the Salvation Army and worked in several different states. She spent her last years in Milton, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, David Paul Stokes, brothers Kenneth Jackson and Wayne Jackson, and one sister, Judy Slaton.
She is survived by one daughter, Angela Hope Brandow of Milton, FL; two sons, David Stokes of Milton, FL, and Mark Stokes of Dallas, TX; one brother, Robin Jackson of Raleigh, NC; one sister, Sharon Earp of Carrollton, MS; five grand children, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday November 8, 2016 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Williams & Lord Funeral Home in Greenwood. Pallbearers will be friends and family. Burial will be in Centerville Cemetery after the services.
