Dr. Esin Turk passed away in Greenwood, Mississippi, on June 9th, 2020 at the age of 72.

Dr. Turk is survived by her only daughter and son-in-law, Elif and Brett Starr of Austin, Texas. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Harrison Webster, Grace Starr, and Blake Starr, and her mother, Feriha, and a brother, Umit Cakiroglu and his family of Ankara,Turkey. She is preceded in death by her husband, Koksal Turk.

Dr. Turk was born on December 8th, 1947 in Ankara, Turkey. After completing her undergraduate degree she moved to Mississippi and earned her doctorate degree in speech and communications from the University of Southern Mississippi. She has been a beloved professor at Mississippi Valley State University for 38 years.

A memorial service will be planned for a future date.
