Ella Frances Gentry, 100, of Greenwood, MS, died Monday, May 25, 2026, at her residence. Services will be on Saturday, at 1 p.m. at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation from 11 a.m. until service time. Rev. Andy Gentry will officiate.  Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Charleston, MS.

Mrs. Gentry was born on December 7, 1925, in Charleston, to James Goad and Althea Robins Goad. She was a member of Eastgate Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her flowers and quilting. She was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Gentry, and children, Emma Palmertree, Roy Dale Gentry, Joyce Baker, Vicki Gentry, Louis Gentry, and Scotty Gentry.

She is survived by her children, Billy Gentry of Black Hawk, James Gentry and wife Joyce of Greenwood, Henry Gentry of Greenwood, Wanda Robertson of Greenwood, Wesley Gentry of Greenwood, Althea Hutchings of Greenwood, and Greg Gentry of Springfield, MO; forty five grandchildren, seventy two great grandchildren, and thirty nine great great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be William Hutchings, Dale Gentry, Michael Palmertree, Joe Gentry, Jimmy Gentry, Jamie Gentry, Allen Matthews, and Ken Talbert. Honorary pallbearers will be J.T. Reese and Johnathan Parker.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home of Greenwood is in charge of arrangements.
