Dennis Howard Ratliff, 81, of Cruger, MS, died Friday, April 7, 2017 at his residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at Williams & Lord Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3p.m. to 5p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery in Carroll County. Rev. Leon Holly will officiate at the services.

Mr. Ratliff was born August 7, 1935 in Leflore County to James Allen and Mary Etta Nail Ratliff. He graduated from Tchula High School. He owned and operated Stanley's Department Store for over 43 years. Hobbies were his cattle, gardening and outdoor activities. He was a deacon of Cruger Baptist Church and active in all activities including Sunday School teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Odell Holeman Ratliff, son, Gary Ratliff, grandson John Allen Ratliff, and his parents.

He is survived by two sons, Dennis Ratliff, Jr. and wife Deborah of Cruger, MS, Danny Ratliff and wife Carol of Cruger, MS, daughter, Cathy Thompson and husband, Louie of Thornton, MS, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Ray Ratliff, Gary Ratliff, Jr., Chris Ratliff, Micajah Sturdivant, Michael Thompson, James Locke, Will Appleby, and James Hunter.
Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery Association.
