Obituary

Debra J. Little , 65, of Junction City, Kansas, formerly of Greenwood, MS, died Thursday, August 11, 2022 at her residence. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Williams & Lord Funeral Home with visitation 10 a.m. until service time. Shyna Hicks will officiate.  Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery East.

She was born and raised in Mississippi, then later moved to Decatur, Alabama, then to Junction City, Kansas, where she passed away at home with her granddaughter by her side at the age of 65. She had battled COPD and lung cancer. Throughout her life she had many hobbies. She enjoyed doing word searches, volunteering with the Salvation Army, attending church services, and spending as much time as she could with kids. She stayed positive throughout her life and never met a stranger. She was a joy to be around and shined her light upon others. Her favorite thing to do was go to Sonic for a Route 44 unsweetened tea, shop, and spend mornings sipping coffee outside with her granddaughter while watching her great grandson play. She is joined in Heaven with her older sister, Mildred Williams, and her parents, Homer Thad Vining, Jr.  and Gladys Carroll Vining, and granddaughter, Mary Elizabeth Little.

Debra is survived by her three children, Art Little of Decatur, AL, David Little of Grenada, MS, Tammy Little of Greenwood, MS, and was also a bonus mother to Tonya Garner of Junction City, KS. She also leaves behind her sister, Peggy Dempsey of Greenwood, MS, 12 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.

Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. An online guestbook may be signed at www.williamsandlord.com .
