DC Wiggins, 96, of Carrollton, MS, died Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Indywood Glen Personal Care. Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God in Greenwood, MS, and visitation will be 12 p.m. until service time at the church. Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Rev. James McElroy and Rev. Bernard Wiggins will officiate. Williams & Lord Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Wiggins was born in Carroll County on June 8, 1920 to Fate Wiggins and Ella Mae Wiggins. He worked for Barrentine Manufacturing for 28 years and also worked for Glen Jones Auto. He was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church of God in Greenwood. He also was a U.S. Army veteran from WWII and served in the Philippines. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Weeks Wiggins, five brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Mr. Wiggins is survived by a daughter, Susan Wiggins Slaton and husband Timmy of Carrollton, MS; two grandchildren, Ashley Slaton Kimes of Starkville, MS, and Ben Slaton of Greenwood, MS; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Donald Norris, Chris Kimes, Wayne Clunan, Robbie Clunan, Michael Smith, Cliff Aldridge, and Cody Pugh.
American Legion Post 29 will perform the military honors.
